Rockies Game

We took the boys to a Rockies game tonight, it was chilly, but the sun did end up making an appearance. We made it through 6 innings before the boys made us crazy enough to head home. :-)

The boys enjoying their foot-long hotdogs.

The babies had cotton candy for the first time. They quite enjoyed it.

Rainy Day Walk to the Park

It's been raining for most of the last 24+ hours, very unusual for Colorado. We got a break from the rain for a bit while the Cables were over to hang out today, so we walked down to the neighborhood school and let the kiddos play. They all got really wet, but they had a great time(I think the adults did too).

Tessa(aka Boo Bear)

Emma

Of course Samuel, still in his church clothes, couldn't stay away from the puddles.

Megan.

The little ones were getting worn out by the time we left since it was getting to be about bedtime. I took this one of Megan right before we left to walk home. I really like this one of her, but I can't decide which crop I like better.

A Birthday Hike

Right after breakfast, Isaac got to open one of his birthday gifts. This kid's mp3 player was a gift from Mommy and Daddy.

We decided to go for a hike on a new trail near Boulder. I wasn't sure it was going to be so great since we were walking right alongside a road at first.

With these guys watching our progress.

But then the trail starting following this.

With this on the other side of us. It turned out to be a really nice walk.

The birthday boy, 8 years old today!

Isaac spotted this guy watching us while we were taking a rest on a log.

There were lots of baby ground squirrels out and about.

And plenty of not-so-baby ones.

Baby bunnies too.

For my photographer friends, I am editing on my laptop tonight as I'm waiting for a new cable for my calibrated monitor. My excuse for the wonky colors today. :D

Don't water the baldies.

Samuel wanted his hair to look like Isaac's and when we were done it was like looking at a little Isaac. Samuel didn't like how long it took to get all of his hair off with the clippers, so while he was taking a bath when we were done he told me he wasn't going to take anymore baths so that his hair wouldn't grow. It took me awhile to get it.......

he thinks that bath water is to his hair what the sprinkler water is to our garden plants!

A Samuel Fix

Samuel was looking mighty preppy for chapel day at school. He looked cute and he knew it. :-)

Saluting.

The boys' new toy.

Of course it's a box, what else would it be? Someone gave us a used lawnmower when we moved into this house 8(!) years ago and it died this year. The new mower came in a big ol' hefty box. The boys had a plan.

It included lots of grass in the bottom of the box.

A chariot of sorts. This became quite the project and they didn't finish until dark. Pictures of the final product to come.

Bathtub Babes

Macro is hard.

I went around the yard with my macro lens this afternoon. It's been a long time since I've used it and I'd forgotten how difficult it is to control the focus. Here is the edge of a Hen and Chicks leaf.

School Music Program

The older boys had a patriotic themed music program at school Friday night. Spencer got such a severe case of nerves that he had a major meltdown and wouldn't go on stage. :-(

Isaac doing his speaking part.

Spencer so miraculously recovered after his class was done with their speaking and singing parts that I was annoyed and made him go onstage for the very last song that the whole school sang together. Here is proof that he was up there. His eyes are puffy from crying so much. I'm so mean.

After the program and Spencer is ready to run off and play with his friends.
