An Eventful Walk - Warning: Long

Since Jeremiah is gone for the day rocket-ing and it is such a nice day, the boys and I decided to go for a walk at one of our favorite spots, Josh's Pond. It got interesting about 30 seconds after we got there. Samuel took off down the path running almost literally into a goose who I suspect had a nest nearby and was not happy to see us. She chose Samuel as her victim and chased him, mouth open and hissing, scaring the poo out of him. After we ate lunch, we continued our walk only to have Isaac and Spencer almost immediately have a traumatic experience of coming face to face with a snake. Or rather foot to face as Isaac stepped on it before he saw it. Isaac and Spencer were both sobbing, Spencer because he was scared of the snake, Isaac because he felt badly for having stepped on it(I think he was a little scared too). For some odd reason, we decided to press on and about 15 minutes later Samuel fell right onto a cactus. I picked the thorns out of his hand and then we had to disrobe him in order to sufficiently get the thorns out of his leg and pants. We did leave shortly thereafter. I didn't see too many people around, but if there were, they certainly got a good show.

Sounds like, ummm, a "good" time.

I think you and Niki could write your own book on your adventures with your kidos

Was the second picture (_DSC3621-700843.jpg) at the beginning or end of the adventure? It would work either way as an image for the event. The boys have a we-are-survivors look.

Can you email me the name of the Photoshop trick you applied to that picture? That is so cool. Adds to the picture and the story without overpowering it.

Oh, and is this your definition of long? Wow! My posts are enormous in comparison.

You have my blessings / vote (for whatever it is worth) to keep making these long posts.

{wink}
