We went to a new park today, Golden Gate Canyon State Park. After entering the park we drove up a road with a 19%(!) grade to get to the trailhead we were looking for. It was a great trail and the scenery was gorgeous. The unfortunate part was that we should have turned around to head back about a half mile earlier than we did.
After we got back down the mountain and got ourselves some yummy Frontroom pizza in Lakewood, we decided to make a quick stop at another park that we like but don't get to often, Bear Creek Lake Park(seriously, could they make that name any longer?!).

What a great place to hike! Are you going to stay in one of their yurts some time? :)
I'm also very impressed that you all had the energy to go to a playground after your day of hiking--what an adventuresome family!! :)
