Take A Hike

We went to a new park today, Golden Gate Canyon State Park. After entering the park we drove up a road with a 19%(!) grade to get to the trailhead we were looking for. It was a great trail and the scenery was gorgeous. The unfortunate part was that we should have turned around to head back about a half mile earlier than we did.

The boys were so worn out!

Ahhh, we finally made it back. Thankfully we had lots more water and some snacks waiting for us.

After we got back down the mountain and got ourselves some yummy Frontroom pizza in Lakewood, we decided to make a quick stop at another park that we like but don't get to often, Bear Creek Lake Park(seriously, could they make that name any longer?!).

Finally, we brought our tired and filthy boys home for baths and bed! What a great day!

Banana Trees in Colorado

I'm guessing they wouldn't grow here? Our family goes through massive amounts of bananas. I wonder if there are discounts to buy a box of them from the store?

Boulder Reservoir

We tried out a new(to us) reservoir with a beach tonight in Boulder.

Saturday Morning Hike

This morning we headed to Boulder to one of our favorite places to hike.

I walked out of Target last night to find that I was missing the most beautiful sunset ever. So I did what any sane person does, I came home, grabbed my camera, and headed for a high point. I missed it of course, but it was still beautiful and I thought this might be worthy of some web space. :-)

A karate and park kind of Tuesday.

First Haircut*sniff sniff*

It was time. I knew it was time, but the first haircuts are always traumatic for me.

He was such a big boy. Content(but not necessarily happy) with the process. I 'm happy because he still looks like a baby and I, I mean he, got to keep some of his curls.

Happy Father's Day!

After we ate lunch in Boulder, we stopped at the mall for slushies and playtime in the giant sandbox.

Tonight we grilled and played in the backyard. Hope all the dads had a great day today!
