Big Day for Spencer!

Spencer lost his very first tooth today!

Isaac's plan

I was talking with Isaac tonight before he went to bed and he shared his plan for when he grows up. He's going to work hard and earn lots of money. In fact, he plans to have 3 jobs and get paid for all three.

Isaac is going to start each day as a bug scientist. He'll work with bugs until snack-time. After snack-time, Isaac will be a chemical scientist and mix things. All the work after lunch will be spy things - like MacGyver does.

Snow(and lots of it!)

On Thursday we had our only big snow of the year, 14 or so inches. On Friday, we ventured out into it.

Spencer and Asher worked on a snowman while Isaac did his crazy rides and Samuel and I had a snowball fight.

We were all pretty tired after nearly a couple hours out. Samuel never got tired of eating the snow - here he is eating it off the water bottle.

Antique

Isaac was hanging out with me in the kitchen this morning while I was making waffles(we're in the middle of a snowstorm, possibly 2 ft of snow coming our way!). Out of the blue he asked me if I rode around by horse and carriage when I was a little girl or if cars were invented yet.

Wrestling

Seth Teaches Isaac How to Wrestle

Seth and Heather came for a visit over the weekend and we had a lot of fun with them.

The first morning they were here, Seth hadn't even finished breakfast when Isaac announced that Seth was going to teach him how to wrestle.

Isaac did well, but in the end it was Asher who won, at least that's what Asher announced.

Crashed

Isaac had a cold this week and it was a busy week for him to boot, complete with roller skating yesterday with school. The boy was seriously tired last night. Isaac and Spencer both made it only about 10 minutes into their Friday night movie.

Blue and White Day

Crazy Hair/Hat Day

Isaac wanted crazy hair, which we've done in past years for him. He forgot how long it takes though and decided before we were done that next year he's going to go for a crazy hat.

Spencer is sporting this hat that Grandpa Aaron and Grandma Judy brought back from New Orleans.

Decades Day

80's Isaac. His hair isn't long enough to feather, so we spiked it.

50's Spencer. We didn't pull it off too well, but don't tell him I said so. :-)

Suburban Cowboys

Cowboy/Western day at school today. My poor kids just look like suburban wannabees, which of course they are. I didn't even have cowboy hats for them since they tend to get squished beyond recognition at our house.

They Sounded Yummy

I decided to try making popcorn balls this weekend. I found a whole bunch of recipes that used jello, so I thought I'd give one of them a try since it'd be fun to have colored popcorn balls. They were not good and to add insult to injury Isaac told me the blue jello/marshmallow concoction holding the popcorn balls together looked like toothpaste and I realized he was right.

The boys were kind enough to at least try them. They each had a few bites.

I just wanted plain ol' chewy popcorn balls, anyone have a good recipe?
