First Snow!

Hot(lukewarm) chocolate when they came in, and yes, they went outside in their pj's. :-D

Happy 6th Birthday to Spencer!

After a birthday lunch of his choice at McDonalds, we came home and let him open gifts.

Asher was really excited to help Spencer blow out the candles.

But mommy had tricked him with re-igniting birthday candles. Bwahahaha!!

He's our goofy boy.

We sure do love him, happy birthday little man!

Laundry Area

I just love how this room is turning out! As you can see, our new washer and dryer arrived on Wednesday, and they are wonderful.

This is the little study area off to one side.

This may look like just a little closet(that will have a door if you were wondering), but it is actually the first time that our vacuum will have a designated place to live. I'm very excited about it!

Addition/Renovation Progress

Flooring in the laundry area today!

We got our lights and electricity up and running in the kitchen, which is very exciting!

Here is the undercabinet lighting only.

Undercabinet + can lights. There will also be three lights hanging over the island, but we changed our minds on the ones we had, so we'll be getting new ones in soon.

And then the cable lights on the other side.

Not to be snotty to the midwesterners, but how cool is this?!

The area formerly known as the kitchen.

Also known as the old kitchen, this area has undergone quite a transformation this week. It was amazing to us how much bigger this room looked without cabinets and appliances lining both sides. This will be our new laundry area and will include a study area on the other side of the little closet built just so my vacuum has a place to call home.

The wall with the green paint got about a foot taken off the one end of it by the top of the staircase and it really makes a difference in how open it feels going into the kitchen.

And just for a little perspective, this is where we started.

The boys got sufficiently sugared up on Friday, we went down our block and by that point they were so anxious to get into their candy that they were ready to head home.

I was so excited when Kimberly asked me to take pictures of her family. She and I and our slew of boys have hung out together more often over the last few months and I've come to the conclusion that Kimberly is a truly incredible woman. Thank you Hills, I had a ton of fun!
