Bamboo!

It's so fun to see everything coming together. The bamboo hardwood floor is going in this week!

Track Layout of the Day

We recently got the wooden track out of storage at Samuel's urging and he promptly became obsessed. Today's track created by Samuel and embellished by Spencer spanned both of the boys' bedrooms and the hallway. It was mighty cool, but it did make walking through the area a bit difficult.

Scarecrows Galore!

Each child in Spencer's class built a scarecrow for their scarecrow party today.

All the kids dressed up as scarecrows and performed a few dances for the parents.

Isn't he adorable?!

Jeffrey's dad works with Jeremiah and for the last 2 days Jeffrey has hung out with us. He's very laid back and we really enjoyed having him around.

Cabinets Installed.

I didn't get out there to take photos until after it was dark, so they're mighty flashy, but you can get the idea. We get measured for countertops on Wednesday.

The olders get their new bedroom.

It's not quite finished. At some point we'll get it painted, but the boys were anxious to get into their new room, so we moved them over today. Bedtime was pretty different, the babies seemed a little lonely, but having them in 2 rooms instead of 1 made the routine mighty smooth.

Cabinets!

This alone may be more cabinet space than I have in our current kitchen!

Wednesday, October 22, 2008

It'll be an actual kitchen soon!

Textured and primed today. Paint in the morning. Cabinets being delivered tomorrow afternoon.(!)

Random Photos Around the House

Spencer took some photos of his Lego creations over the weekend and some others photos too.

The babies both wanted to hold the guinea pigs tonight.

A Giant In Our House

Samuel and Asher are in awe of Chad on his drywalling stilts. They watched him from here for a good while.

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

I really need to decide on paint colors.

And I say "I" because looking at paint samples is a form of torture for Jeremiah. It looks like a room now, very exciting! I say that nearly everyday, don't I? I did cut back on the amount of exclamation points today, that has to count for something. :D

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

Could there be anything more exciting?! :D

We have drywall! Check out our ceiling! It is almost done and then the walls come next. Look at our tubular skylight on the right hand side too!

Natalie and Chris 10/4/08

On October 4th I second shot Natalie and Chris's wedding with Jared up in Estes Park. They got ready at the Stanley Hotel and their ceremony was held at the St Malo chapel just down the road in Allenspark. Then it was back to the Stanley for the reception. Click on the photo below if you'd like to see a few more of my captures from the day.

Ahhh, that's better!

Highs have been in the mid-50's the last couple days, yes, the highs. Our house was getting mighty chilly, especially at night. In spite of the city's annoying inspection process making it as hard as possible, Ike got the kitchen insulated, the ceiling yesterday afternoon and the walls this morning. We're amazed at how much of a difference it makes. The room(and the house) are very comfortable, it now feels the same temperature as the rest of the house and as a bonus, it's not echo-y anymore.

Thanks Ike!

Busy Day Around Here

We've had the plumber, electrician, and hvac folks here the past few days and they've done a lot of work.

Here at the end of the kitchen the plumber roughed in where the washer and deep sink will go.

There are wires all over in the trusses, I hope it all makes sense to someone!

A few of the can lights.

The plumbing for the sink.

In our basement utility room, the new hvac lines branching off of the main line there.

Plumbing and hvac going into the crawl space. It worked out well to use this former window so that no cutting into the foundation was required. The extra space will be filled in.

After an inspection tomorrow comes insulation, and we're ready, nights are getting chilly!

Skatepark

We scored some cool-parents points with the boys tonight when we took them to Broomfield's skatepark. Isaac and Spencer both got padded up and took their bikes for a spin. Isaac got into it more than Spencer, but they both had a great time and we'll definitely be going back.

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday afternoon the Mackeys called and asked if we wanted to go the pumpkin patch. This was great since we tend to scramble to get our pumpkins at the end of October. This place was new to us and it was so much fun. You pick your own pumpkin. I think the person who came up with this idea is a genius, not only is it fun for us to take a pair of shears to the field and cut our own pumpkin, it's also less work for them!

We all took off in different directions looking for the perfect pumpkin to call our own.

Reanna and Isaac try to use teamwork to get Isaac's pumpkin choice out of the field.

A Walk with Daddy

While I was shooting a wedding with Jared in Estes Park on Saturday, Jeremiah took the boys out for a walk. They got to take their shirts off and felt very manly.

Some photos from the boys:

One of many giant ant hills.

They were looking for ducks to feed, they found one, in the middle of the lake.

Hiking

Since the boys were off school today, we met Ms Kimberly, Griffin, and Adam at the Anne U White Trail in Boulder, a new one for all of us. The path runs along a small creek bed that happened to be as dry as a bone today, but the boys had fun playing in it anyway. What a hoot to watch all those boys run around!

Since there are so many photos, I put them into a slideshow, but you can click on any of them to see them bigger.

All Painted.

From the outside it looks all complete.

Inside, not so much, but my pantry got framed in yesterday!
