Coming Into The House

The opening to the kitchen will be on the right, the left side is where a window came out and a wall will be put in(in order to please the load-bearing wall on that side of the house).

Pirates!

We regularly use a drop-in childcare center here in town so that we can have our date nights. This past Saturday was a pirate theme and we got such a kick out of their new looks that we had to snap a photo before they had time to smear the face paint all over.

Adams County Fairgrounds

Aren't they just the most proper little gentleman you've ever seen?! Hardly, but they do both tend to stand and walk with their hands like this.

Isaac's First Worship Song

Isaac wrote this worship song a few weeks ago while we were waiting for food to arrive at Olive Garden. He's been wanting to record it for awhile so tonight we recorded it and made a album cover for it and now he's really excited to bring it to school to give to middle schooler Michelle. :-0

Here are the words he is singing.

It looks like a house!

I didn't get a photo taken last night before it got dark, so I snuck out today. It's really getting exciting for us now! Ike told me that early next week they will be coming through the wall into the house. Time to start packing up the current kitchen!

The siding will be painted, we're very open to suggestions on color if anyone has ideas.

Broomfield Days

This past weekend was Broomfield Days including a parage on Saturday morning. Here is the boys' school "float". I'm on the injured list right now after I did something really dumb involving Isaac's scooter and a pair of flip flops, you don't want to know. Anyhow, I hobbled over to watch the parade from the sidelines while Jeremiah and the boys walked in the parade.

Blurred faces because I don't know all these kids' parents to ask permission to have their faces online. Isaac and Samuel were mighty proud to be riding down the street in the parade. Spencer is in there somewhere too.

One of the teachers holding up Asher so I could see him.

Bouncy Castle!

Little kid version of the spinning teacups. Samuel loved it, Asher did for about a minute, the 2nd minute was not so enjoyable for him.

Kitchen Renderings

We've gotten quotes from a few different places for our cabinets, and one of them, Kitchens By Wedgewood, gave us these neat-o renderings of this side of our addition.

You still need to use your imagination a bit. Our cabinets will be a tad lighter, as will the countertops. The actual ceiling is cathedral style, and while the lights over the island will hang down similarly to these, ours will be more cone shaped and in primary red, blue, and yellow.

Congratulations to Seth and Heather!

Aren't they cute? They got engaged yesterday, we're so excited for them!

Addition Update!

We looove the windows, well, except for the fact that they really make us realize how terrible the rest of the windows in the house are!

We even have some shingles up there as of today!

Birthday Celebration

It was torture for Samuel to wait until after dinner to bust into his cake and gifts. In fact, he was rather unhappy with me when I told him we couldn't have his cake for lunch. But he managed to wait until everyone was home and had a great time opening gifts and eating cake tonight.

Happy Birthday to Samuel!

Samuel is 4 today!

Kitchen Layout

We ate dinner out there for the first time tonight!

Weekend

We had a pretty quiet weekend hanging out with Maca and being out in the addition chalking where we want everything to go.

Addition Update

I didn't post much last week about the addition since the changes were less obvious to see but there was lots of work going on. Mainly getting the roof of the addition attached to the existing roof of our house. We can tell they're doing a good job because with all the rain we've gotten in the last week, we haven't had any water inside the house!

Karen and Jarrett 9/6/08

I photographed a wedding here in Broomfield this past Saturday. Karen and Jarrett were wonderful and so very in love. Click on the photo to see more in my Flickr account. Many thanks to Kelli for coming along as my assistant!

All the roof trusses are in place and about half of the roof has sheeting.

Wednesday

Tuesday's Progress

I'd forgotten to post Tuesday's photo. We have walls up all the way around with doors and windows all cut out. The biggest/highest of the roof trusses are sitting on top there upside-down. The roof has changed a lot today already.

TIme in the Mountains

Since I shot a wedding with Jared in Breckenridge on Monday, we stayed in the mountains Sunday night. The boys had a good time swimming in the hotel pool Sunday afternoon/evening and then Monday we enjoyed the cool weather. Jeremiah and the boys went to a children's museum and hung out together while I was at the wedding.
