before people
I was laying down with the boys tonight to help them settle down for bed. It was dark and the boys were all finally being quiet. I thought Spencer was asleep but he announced, as if he had just had a revelation, "before there were people, there weren't any car stores or people or anything". I wish I could have seen the whole trail of thoughts in his head that led him to say that.

Macro at Home
:-O
Imagine my horror when I drove around a curve here in town to find the boys' school surrounded by many many firetrucks and ambulances. The 14 seconds or so until I got close enough to see that they were at the apartment complex next door were nauseating. Sometimes being a parent isn't very fun(revelation, I know).
So today this parent gets away with just a scare, unfortunately, gauging by the number of emergency vehicles there, the parents and loved ones of some people who lived in that apartment complex aren't getting off so easy.

Spencer's Ninja Kitty
Spencer chose to spend some of his Christmas money at Build-A-Bear and picked out a kitty that he named Hot Wheels and dressed up in karate clothes.

Fun for Mommy
Once a month the Butterfly Pavilion has an early morning session for folks to come in and set up tripods and work on macro photography. I got to attend this morning and had so much fun!

Argh!
Isaac's class is going to see the new Veggietales movie at the theater today and the kids were invited to dress up as a pirate.
In other news, Isaac lost his first tooth this week at school! The one next to it is about to fall out too.
