Pinecone Lodge

We stayed in Florissant, CO at a place we found online called Pinecone Lodge, West of Colorado Springs . For anyone from or visiting Colorado, I would highly recommend taking a couple of days to stay there.

A couple of views from the cabin.

Pikes Peak.

There are five wooded acres that the boys had a blast on.

Spencer was starting to not feel well. :-(

Thanksgiving Week

We spent this week in the mountains with our friends, The Adams Family. We stayed at a cabin there and celebrated Thanksgiving and Spencer's birthday there.

Spence was feeling a little under the weather on his birthday.

But he still managed to have some fun. :-)

Campfire the night of Thanksgiving/Spencer's birthday.

Check out all those stars! Quite a novelty for us city-folk, hehehe.

Random

I've been thinking today about what toys have best stood the test of time(okay, so only 4-5 yrs for these things, but we do tend to use and abuse toys) at our house. These two things stand out as being played with a lot, usually everyday, and have held up well, looking practically new still.

These blocks from Constructive Playthings are so versatile. Asher and Samuel climb on them, Spencer and Isaac stack them and even use them as stepstools once in awhile, or as stunt props. Daddy has even been known to fall asleep on the living room floor using one as a pillow. They are very durable!

A little more of a limited age application at our house for these right now as Asher and sometimes still Samuel are accused of destroying the intricate tracks that Isaac and Spencer like to build that cover the entire living room floor. But still, they are played with a ton, and I like seeing the track designs they come up with.

We are home.....

and I am thankful to have such good travelers. Trip took our usual 14 hours, and we made a grand total of 2! stops, and they did it quite happily.

Home always feels good, and we are looking forward to our own beds.

G'night. :-)

Wheaton Thunder Football Game

The Wheaton Thunder had their last regular season game today. It was SUPER cold, but we took Isaac and Asher in to watch, Uncle Brad and Taylor came along too.

The kids did real well watching the game,
and hanging out while we watched the game.

On the field after the game, in his many layers.

Name that Antique, Rusted Out, Farm Machine

During our walk, we happened upon this old piece of farm machinary. It looked like a harvester of some kind, we weren't sure for what. It was a neat old machine though.
