Good Times Launching Rockets

We went back down to Lakewood today to take try at lauching some of our own rockets. Jeremiah will have more info about that at Pure Geek Joy.

Jeremiah and Isaac preparing a rocket of ours on the launch pad.

It was a little windy today, so we had to do some rocket chasing.

Asher played in the truck for awhile.

Waiting for the next launch.

Ate some dirt, well Asher did anyway.

Samuel found lots to entertain himself in this field.

Family Fun

We went down to see the CRASH club launch today. They told us we could launch our own rockets with them even though we aren't members, so perhaps we'll take some down tomorrow to launch. The launch site is in a park with lots of space, so we don't have to worry about losing rockets! :)

A neat thing about attending a club launch is that we got to see all kinds of different stuff. I've read about gliders and helicopter recovery systems, but hadn't seen any until today. There were a couple rocket powered gliders there today, but the only one we saw fly was the Deltie B from Edmunds. We saw a couple helicopters fly, but the Heli-Roc was most impressive.

A little chilly, but otherwise beautiful day!
pretty field, mountains, and rocket launch site

There were 6 regular model-rocket launch pads, 2 towers, and a rail.

Spencer was a little concerned about the rockets, so he stayed in the truck until about the last 10 minutes that we were there.

Perfect Autumn Morning

I'm amazed it's taken so long, but the boys discovered the canoe that lives upside-down in the back corner of the yard. They played in it all morning.
